Austrian Meat and the Perfect Production Site

"As you may have noticed, our manufacturer stamp has changed in recent months. We received some questions about this, and therefore we will clarify the mystery surrounding the Czech stamp here in a short article."
Over the course of more than 6 years, we had 5 different butcher shops produce for us. One thing was always important to us: we wanted 100% Austrian meat. But of course, we also had to consider other factors. For example, some businesses simply were not equipped to produce beef jerky. They either lacked smoke chambers that were large enough or the time from the producers to make our product alongside their ongoing operations. Often, there was also a lack of workforce that could really take care of our jerky. On top of that, there were sudden price changes and inaccuracies during production. We need a reliable partner!
In short - we needed a reliable, professional partner who could provide the necessary equipment, know-how, and passion for our product. We definitely wanted to keep the production in Austria, but simply could not find the partner we urgently needed for our company. In 2019, we expanded our search radius to the Czech Republic and found what we were looking for. We took our time, visited the manufactory, and conducted a whole series of test productions. In late spring 2020, contracts were signed and production officially began.
Success!
"Our current manufacturing facility finally meets all our requirements and wishes - from the commitment of the employees to all the machines and necessary staff, to absolute reliability. We believe you will agree with us when we say that our Simple Jerky has never been better. It has exactly the consistency and flavor that we have always aimed for in our product."
Austrian Meat - a Basic Requirement
The next hurdle was the Austrian meat. Many butcher shops that we got to know over time would have hardly left us any freedom in choosing the meat. However, our Czech partner assured us from the very beginning that only we would determine where our meat comes from.
"It is very important to us, not only as the owners of Simple Jerky but also as consumers, that our beef has the best possible quality. And for us, quality includes not only taste and texture but also the well-being and respectful treatment of the animal. A cruel factory farming system, non-species-appropriate feed, long transport routes, and inhumane slaughtering practices are absolutely out of the question for us."
The company Alpenrind in Salzburg has been our partner for a long time, and they are currently supplying our Czech manufacturing facility with their meat. Alpenrind Salzburg not only guarantees (and proves) complete traceability, but they also pursue a strict environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 and voluntarily commit to the labeling system "bos®".
Here we show you an example of what our delivery note from Alpenrind looks like:
But the emissions!
"Of course, this is also a topic for us. The company Frigologo has been running the tour to the Czech Republic for many years anyway. Our meat order from Alpenrind is therefore not an extra tour, but is integrated into existing deliveries. In that sense, we at least do not cause any additional environmentally harmful emissions."So all in all....
"The absolute ideal scenario would of course be to raise the grazing cattle next to the slaughterhouse and this directly next to the manufacturing facility. All of this in Austria. But when building a company, one must be willing to compromise, and we have found the best solution for ourselves at this point."We hope this article clarifies a few things!
